About Us

Since 1952, the Brust family has been serving families for four generations. Our business was founded 3 generations ago, just after World War 2. We offer services to honor a life that has been lived, and to comfort those who grieve.

When our founder, Jack Brust, returned from serving in World War II, he married his Lombard sweetheart Anita. Together they purchased an old farmhouse on Main Street in Lombard and opened the first branch of Brust Funeral Home. Jack and Anita ran the first funeral that March. In the 1950’s Jack’s parents, Fred and Irene, joined the business. The tradition of “our family serving your family” was born. Jack’s children, John, Jim, Tom and Bonnie continued the family tradition in the 1970’s and 80’s. In the 1990’s, John expanded and Brust Villa Park Funeral. John’s wife, Karen, joined the firm as a bookkeeper in the 2000’s. Now, John’s son, Ted proudly represents the fourth generation of the Brust family to carry on the long-established tradition of “our family serving your family.”

Throughout the years, the families we serve have found our efforts to be of great value in arranging funeral services that are most meaningful and appropriate for those who remain, while incorporating the wishes of the person who has died. That is why we offer both traditional and cremation services that can be customized and tailored to the wants and desires of each family we serve.

As a family, we like to get involved in our community. If we can be of assistance to you or your community group, please let us know. We welcome the opportunity to be of service.
