Obituary

Alvin Richard “Rich” Sampson, 88, passed away peacefully at his home in Lombard, IL on January 7, 2022.

He was born on August 30, 1933 in Chicago, IL to Alvin Vernon and Eula (nee Wyatt) Sampson. He served in the United States Air Force for three years during the Korean War. He was a dedicated employee of Garden City Envelope Company of Chicago for over 25 years and Albany Bank and Trust of Chicago for over 25 years, where he retired at age 81.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret (nee Tarantino); children, Steve (Isabel) Sampson of Texas and Kim (Dave) Pieniazek of Lombard; his beloved grandchildren Taylor and Matthew Biagi, Nicole and Danny Sampson; brother Don (the late Phyllis) of Wisconsin, Elsie (Sam) Realmuto of Elk Grove Village and Jim (the late Viola) of Arizona; sister-in-law Laverne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings Dorothy (Robert) Anderson, Willard, Marian (Tom) Ward, Wayne (Patricia), Gwen, Jean (Chuck) Goforth, Charlie and Kathy (Carl) Artner.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 23rd, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard.  Interment private.
