Amy Castleberry nee Muisenga, and formerly Amy Mahn, age 59, of Wheaton, died on January 2, 2022 at Central DuPage Hospital.
Amy was the beloved wife of Michael R. Castleberry, who she married 20 years ago in Las Vegas; loving mother of Morgan Mahn; fond stepmother of Colin Castleberry and Ryan Castleberry; dear sister of Al Muisenga; aunt of Alison Muisenga and Emily Muisenga; niece of Doug (Arlene) Halpenny; cousin of Colleen Odegaard and Justin (Laura) Halpenny; and many dear family and friends.
Amy grew up in Lombard and graduated from Lake Park High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lombard, where she sang in the choir.
Amy was very dedicated to family and family traditions. She was especially fond of her furry son, Bear. Amy loved music and singing. She was a supportive baseball, football and marathon Mom. She loved beaches, visiting Arlington Park with her mom and playing blackjack together in Las Vegas.
Amy was the kindest soul who loved laughing. She was an Entrepreneur and Inventor of the “Refrigerizers.” She was witty and funny.
Visitation Friday, January 7, 2022, from 4-9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main, Lombard. Funeral Service Saturday, January 8 at 10:30 AM at Brust Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West, 17W201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace. Masks are required for all services.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 11 AM at First United Methodist Church, 155 S. Main Street, Lombard.
