Anthony (Tony) F. Iovinelli age 100 of Glen Ellyn, IL, died December 29, 2020 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL due to Covid related issues.
Tony was the Loving Father to Steve (Gail), Mike (Barb), Marianne (Jim Pittman), Tony (Kate) and Joe (Kris); Grandfather to 14 Grandchildren; Great-Grandfather to 6 Great Grandchildren; Tony had many, many, loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great, nieces and nephews and many treasured and lifelong friends including Theresa DeVerde.
Tony was Proceeded in death by his loving wife Kay (Romeo), 1 brother, 2 sisters, and many other cherished family members.
Tony and his wife Kay were residents of Chicago before moving to Villa Park, IL in the early 1970’s. Tony owned a food truck that served Chicago for years and was well known for “Kay’s Beef”. He lived for family, friends, good food, and fun times. In addition, Tony cherished fishing adventures, a good card game, and enjoying a glass of scotch while in the company of his family and friends. He lived a wonderful life enjoying as much time with those he loved as possible for all of his 100 years.
Tony served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was part of the Battle of Luzon and the Solomon Islands Campaign. Tony received several decorations during that time, including a Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 bronze battle star, 1 service stripe and 4 overseas service bars.
Private visitation (due to COVID-19) will be held Saturday January 2nd at Brust. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
