James W. Kucera, age 76, of Bensenville, died April 14, 2021 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, April 18, from 2 PM until the time of prayers at 4 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Private Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials in James’ name may be made to your favorite charity.
James was the loving husband of 51 years of Gudelia nee Franco; dearest dad of Richard, Anthony of Bensenville and David (Amber) of Addison; fond grandfather of 6, Rio Franco, Nina Franco, Joshua Tsang, Kyle Tsang, Anabella Franco and Afioina Franco; dear brother of Tommy of Wheeling, the late Henry, the late John and the late Anne.
James grew up in Northfield, Illinois, and had lived in Bensenville for the last 8 years. He was a graduate of New Trier High School. He attended SIU and graduated from UIC with a B.S. in Biology.
James was a Veteran of the U.S. Army; he served the Vietnam Era from 1966-1967. During that time he was exposed to Agent Orange. He was a member of the Glendale Heights VFW.
