Raymond A. Korkowski, age 87, Veteran of the Korean War, of Lombard passed away June 12, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was born in Chicago Illinois, on September 27, 1933 to August and Anna (Krause) Korkowski. He married the late Donna Ward in Chicago, Illinois, on November 26, 1955.
Loving father to Linda (Floyd Jr.) Cook of Fairview Heights, Bill (Shelley) Korkowski of Batavia, Wanda (Chris) Gavin, and Steve (Kristen) Korkowski of Elmhurst, beloved grandfather of Andrew (Lindsay Grant) Stawarski, David (Andrea Bridley) Stawarski, Katharine (Robert) Schiber, Kimberly (Matt) Harper, Michael Korkowski, Liam Gavin, Alexis Korkowski, Alyssa Korkowski, and cherished great-grandfather of Landen, Haley Lin, Nolan, William, Brayden, Abigail, and Isabella.
Raymond was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Raymond was known for his kind sense of humor. He was a little league manager for various baseball teams in the Lombard area for many years and loved baseball very much, always rooting for the Cubs! He was a member of American Legion 187 in Elmhurst, having service in the US Army during the Korean War in F.O. Artillery. Raymond was also a longtime member of Christ the King Church.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 16, from 3-8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 17, with Prayers at 9:30 AM, thence proceeding to Christ the King Church, 1501 S. Main St., Lombard, for 10 AM Mass, followed by a Luncheon at the Stonebridge Country Club, 2705 Stonebridge Blvd, Aurora, IL 60502. Interment Friday, June 18, at 11:00 AM at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
