Obituary

Raymond Wasilauskis, age 86, of Lombard, IL, passed away suddenly on May 20, 2022, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Ray was born in Westville, IL to Charles and Frances (nee Grey) Wasilauskis. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to June (nee Lee); loving father of Stephanie (Joseph) Batka, Sandy Wasiliauskis, Patrick Wasiliauskis; grandfather of Jarrett, Colton, Thomas, Peyton, and David; brother of Dorothy Babrick of Alpharetta, GA, and the late Earl Wasilauskis.  He also enjoyed spending time with his many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His family eventually moved to the south side of Chicago, where he attended Hyde Park High School.

Ray proudly served in the US Army, and also was a member of IBEW Local 134 at AG Communications where he retired after 35 years. He was an avid Chicago sports fan, and especially enjoyed watching the White Sox win the World Series. He enjoyed attending Lombard cruise nights, talking with the car owners, and listening to the live bands, especially music from the 1950’s.

His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He attended many of their athletic events, and enjoyed playing many sports with them.

Most of all, Ray Wasilauskis loved and took great pride in his family.  Family was everything to him. His family loved him so and are devastated at his loss.  He will truly be missed.

Visitation will be held on May 25, 2022, from 3-7 pm at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S Main Street, Lombard IL. Interment will be private.
