Salvatore Vitacco, age 88, of Lombard, died March 26 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 31, with a Visitation from 9 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hillside. In lieu of flowers, donations to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Road, Second Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540 would be appreciated.

Salvatore was the beloved husband of 49 years of the late Sarah nee Raia; son of the late Rocco and the late Elsie (nee Condello) Vitacco; brother of Robert (Edel nee Jaehn) of Forest Park, Elaine (the late Howard) Kennedy of Oregon, the late Barbara (the late William) Robertson, the late James (Eileen nee Giovenco) and Dorothy (Daniel) Kmet of California; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Salvatore was a Veteran of the Korean War where he served as a Paratrooper. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Chicago. He also worked at Jewel on St. Charles Road.
Salvatore had been a Lombard resident since 1968. He attended school in Chicago and was a graduate of Marshall High School. He loved to golf and bowl. Salvatore was an avid, die-hard Cubs fan.
